How I Work

I’m a fully-qualified, approachable and compassionate therapist.

Whether we meet online or in-person, I’ll offer a calm space for you to speak openly and be yourself without fear of judgment.

Clients come to me for many reasons.

Sometimes it’s to deal with specific issues such as relationship or family difficulties, divorce, parenting struggles, bereavement and all manner of other losses, crises and challenges that life throws at us.

Sometimes we need help with more ongoing difficulties such as feelings of not being good enough, low mood, anxiety, loneliness, long-term illnesses, processing painful things from the past or simply a feeling that life has lost its meaning and purpose.

I work humanistically, meaning that although our work will be guided by me, it is led by you. I am trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities so will tailor my approach to suit your individual needs. Fundamentally, I believe that there is real value in talking to someone who has the skill and experience to listen in a way that allows us to feel understood and heard - perhaps for the first time.

Therapy with me is a collaborative experience, so establishing a strong therapeutic relationship between us is at the heart of everything. My role in our work together is not to “give you the answers” but instead to provide a warm, confidential, environment for you to slow down, be completely honest and explore what is going on underneath the surface.  Developing your own self-awareness through this process also brings the opportunity for more choice and the possibility for change and personal fulfilment.

Our work together will help you to gain insight into your challenges and build practical strategies for coping and thriving.

If you are interested in exploring what it might be like to work with me, please do get in touch.

What is the BACP and Why It Matters

The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) is a professional body that sets high standards for therapeutic practice in the UK. Being a BACP-registered counsellor means committing to a strict code of ethics, ongoing professional development, and regular supervision.

For clients, this means peace of mind; knowing you’re working with someone who is trained, accountable, and dedicated to offering safe, ethical, and effective support. Choosing a BACP member helps ensure you’re in trusted hands. Find out more here.
